I read this book AFTER reading MRPII: Making it Happen by Thomas F. Wallace, in an attempt to find something that would explain MRP II concepts to people I report to. It provided an easy to read, easy to understand overview of the benefits of MRP II, and helped to dispell many rumors (eg… the idea that MRP and Kanban are mutually exclusive).
I highly recommend this to anyone in a manufacturing environment who wants or needs to better understand the term MRP II. If after reading this you’d like more detail, Mr. Wallace’s book (cited above) offers a solid method for implementation – from inception of the project to completion, including detailed examples, plans, and checklists.
